About

I’m Alise.

I’m a lot of things, but more than anything else, I’m a woman in progress. I’m finding that out more and more all the time.

I write about supporting my four trans kids, about being a feminist, about being in a second marriage after the first ended due to an affair, about continuing to believe in Jesus even though the Church tries pretty hard to tell me that I don’t really believe because of those other things.

I love knitting because it’s just a series of knots that makes something beautiful. Life is kind of like that. We twist and knot things up, but those stories can create beauty. I hope you’ll join me as I look for that beauty.

  1. Hello, Alise! Mike Morrell asked me to contact you because he really appreciates your blog and thinks you’d be an excellent candidate for his Speakeasy Blogger Network. Do you like to review off-the-beaten path faith, spirituality, and culture books? Speakeasy puts interesting books in your hands at no charge to you. You only get books when you request them, and it’s free to join. Sign up here, if you’d like: http://thespeakeasy.info

  2. Your about a”About” is both profound and beautiful. I don’t think that there could be a finer statement about anyone than what you just wrote. You are a woman who truly knows herself, someone who would make a wonderful friend. If you write your blog the way you wrote your “About” you must be an outstanding writer.

  3. Hi Alise, have you heard of Susan Cottrell and FreedHearts? I think you’d like what she has to say. Check her out on Facebook!
